this is our christmas!!!

it's been a week to Christmas *yay*
and again there's a different mood in our UI's architecture major
while others are cheering up of their end of finals, but here we're crying in our heart wishing a faster and longer holiday as we'll start the finals at the beginning of next January
but that doesn't mean we could have the holiday happily first (well that's depend on us actually), you know that our finals always in the form of assignments, so can you imagine that you'll be worrying it all the time before it finished

yet still among those sucks condition we have our own way on bringing the Christmas atmosphere here
exactly the same as what I've ever posted last year (click here to see it), we did a christmas photoshot on our lovely studio (and I suddenly remember that we're gonna left this kind of studio's life in less than 1 month *sigh*)
we made nico as Santa..what do you think??
he may need that Santa's bloated belly..

karin, what're you looking at??
did you recognize this pose?? LOL

and here are some more picts in my room *pardon me for taking shitlots of photos I just feel like dressing with this christmas outfit

brown yellow plaid skirt - waist detail
CED red top - front detail

do you guys realize that my recent post always mention something about Christmas??
yeah I can't wait to feel those warm Christmas already, there always be a bountiful spirit inside.. as what the Christmas itself refer to, God's Child comes to this world as a grace for human

btw have you known something cute about Google today??
type "Let it Snow" and press enter.. see what it gives you??
and you can write or draw on it, here's mine *guess I'm not a good digital handwriter*

*Christmas count down*

sweet but sure

just went to ninety-nine last wednesday
I planned to do a lighting survey about some kinds of restaurants for lighting subject assignments (so again you must be envy me to know that my lecturer herself who told us to do this!!)
we have to survey at least 4 restaurants per group, and actually my friends have done the first part with 3 restaurants and I can't go with them since I was in surabaya at that time (as what I've told you before in my previous post)
so this time we are looking for a fine dining restaurant, and my friend Nico (the 'master guide' for mall and travelling) suggest us to go to GI.. He offers some choice *just like a GI's sales promotion boy* of fine dining.. at first we take a look at Paulaner Bräuhaus but then we compare it with the one located one lower level, Ninety-Nine..
we are straightly attracted by the lighting effect at the corner seat which is directly seen from outside, so we  choose this place.. and as usual, our main purpose is actually eating and having fun here instead of doing a survey :p
this is it!! the impressive eye-catching lighting

wine warehouse

the bar with warm candles lighting

they provides dark, cozy, and warm ambience with lots of choices of Western dishes, also some Asian and Indonesian food as additional alternative.. the concept itself I think it's a bar restaurant, like Loewy (Oakwood), Social House (Grand Indonesia), Potato Head (Pacific Place), and Union (Plaza Senayan) did.. fyi Ninety-Nine actually has an outside dining area also, but we prefer this area as the outside one is more covered with daylighting and of course the inside one has a more dramatic ambience.

here what we order
from upper left:  something like ice eclairs (*forgot what its name*) - Japanese Pudding - something like fruits crepes (*again forgot what its name*) - Brownie Layer Cake - Raspberry Red Velvet Cake

Since we're attracted by some desserts displayed in the front etalase before entering inside, so we order these sweet desserts.. my most fav goes to the eclairs and red velvet, but unfortunately I ordered the brownie layer cake.. yes, must-buy desserts always goes to the choco one. It tastes good at first, till about 3/4 I started to feel enough of it. don't know why, whether it's too much or the choco is too deep or was I just too full at that time. but overall it's quite nice.
about the eclairs, it tastes light sweet with a choco sauce.. and the red velvet, although it's not as great as what Union has but it's quite nice..

 Nico with his Japanese Pudding
look they put the christmas tree already there!!!

Kania and her Raspberry Red Velvet Cake

Gita.. can you tell me what the dish's name?? I totally forget..

Karin who can't wait more for us taking some picts and impatiently takes her dish first

and me with the just-nice-at-first Brownie Layer Cake

I love how they served it nicely
Ninety-Nine, Grand Indonesia East Mall Lower Ground
*credit goes to kania..most photos at ninety-nine taken from her camera*

and the next, since it's December already you guys must have felt the warmth of christmas atmosphere everywhere.. lots of malls put the christmas decoration already, and so does here
it's been 15 more days to Christmas!! can't wait for it ♥♥
do you guys have some plans for this upcoming christmas??
*not-to-mention my final period will be around the christmas and new year eve*

and for welcoming the Christmas, I just get my nails new color with Gold and Red theme *angelface*
always love how red looks gorgeous

and the last, I'm currently addicted to Adele's Someone Like You..

what a nice sad song

Nostalgic Culinary Trip to Surabaya

Should have posted this earlier, but too bad lots of ass wait for me once I came back
Last week I went to my lovely hometown with my fam after about 2 years not seeing it (I have also posted my last trip there before, click here if you wanna take a look at it)..
The main purpose is indeed attending my cousin's wedding, but of course we wouldn't spend time there without going around. So we decided to add some days there and the plan ended up with 23-27 Nov (whereas the wedding actually just at 24 Nov '11)

my outfit at the wedding
white dress never fails ♥

wedding ceremony at vihara - before went to the reception
and actually that's my very first time attending wedding ceremony in vihara *super surprised with the ritual they did*

and my trip this time was more about food
food that we can't find in Jakarta, food that we've missed a lot!!
here it goes..
Gudeg Bu Har
I know it's originally from Jogja, but Surabaya also has some spot for recommended Gudeg, and this is one of them

 Tambak Bayan
they sell some javanese rice menu, and our most favourites are Nasi Campur, Nasi Campur Empal, and Nasi Rawon
my mom used to take me here for having breakfast or lunch before we go somewhere

this is it Nasi Campur Tambak Bayan!!! let me describe what it contains in Indonesian: soun manis, daging kare, tahu kecap, tahu bali (+stranger from nasi gudeg I mentioned before: krecek)
that's a super extraordinary combination!!

Soto Gubeng
 my fav dish: Soto Daging+Babat
what makes it different is simply because its special spices.. well I can't describe it more but I bet it can make you addict once you try it
do you notice something from this place??
the building is still in Dutch style, such a heritage building

Es Campur Kepanjen
its stall is located across the Santa Maria Churh at Kepanjen
there are some food stalls there and they used to be full of students and their parents during the afterschool time
this is it, my fav Es Campur (inside it -again in Indonesian: ketan hitam, cincau, kelapa muda, kacang ijo, roti tawar, sirup, susu coklat) if you see it you may think it's just an ordinary Es Campur, but dunno why my fam and I love it a lot.. and it will be more splendid when we combine it with Sate Kerang and Lontong Balap from the stall beside (I choose the first one usually, I can eat 2 or 3 portion of it all at once).. yet unfortunately the Sate Kerang's stall is closed when we went there :(

after that we went to Pasar Atom, my mom's fav shopping centre.. I just realize it looks like Mangga Dua in Jakarta. We can buy lots of outfit stuffs from head to toe there, and also we can find many food stalls there. Recently Pasar Atom was built and there's a new parts of it: Mall Pasar Atom, but too bad not many people visit it
 christmas stands is in already!!

what makes me surprised is when my mom take us to a Cakue stall of my mom's acquaintance
it becomes a quiet classy stall now.. it used to be a small stall I remember, but now it's bigger, have many worker, and they put some interior stuffs that make it different than others'
this stall is famous for its cakue, and also the modificated cakue (usually called by: cakue isi)
as the stall is getting bigger, they add more menu there
ote-ote (tiram,rumput laut,daging babi/ayam)
 roti goreng

it's Boncafe time
 our fav steak cafe!!!
 super love the cozy ambience
and these are what we ordered
from upper left: Sirloin Steak, Chicken Steak, Deep Fried Chicken, Medallion Steak
as I forgot to take their photos before eat, I took the picts from Boncafe sites
this cafe is notable for its steak
I'm craving for it after a long time and what I love is they served the steak with a bread + special steak sauce

also it has a nice yard outside that allows visitors to enjoy it while eating
but unfortunately, the side yard where I used to play swing had been replaced by parking area
take some pict at the yards while waiting for the dishes to come

actually there are lots of other extraordinary food in Surabaya, but I'm not gonna make this post more more and more longer anymore with all the thing I ate there, but just mentioned in short the most to die for are Rujak Cingur, Nasi Goreng & Mie Goreng Jawa Kapasan, Bubur Cenil, Tahu Campur Undaan, Bakwan Gili, Bebek Goreng Karang Empat and ... (what else.. I can't remember more.. tell me if you know..)

also I met my childhood very bestfriend, Niluh
we used to talk about everything when we're still in elementary school, but now we're separated by distance as I moved to Jakarta years ago.. and still after a long long long time we didn't met at all we can talk and share everything as usual once we met, like we're never being apart.. too bad I just met her twice since we graduated from elementary school

Surabaya, you will always be my lovely hometown ♥
see ya again soon!
